I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in WORLAND WY where I ate at Panda Restaurant and I read a new piece on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good option for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got some items of clothing.

I must admit I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some incredible details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
