I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in WOODRUFF SC where I ate at Depot Express and I read a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got a few items of clothing.

I have to admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some other interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
