I travel quite a lot for my studies and so often end up eating alone in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in WINTER PARK FL where I ate at Maison Des Crepes and I read an interesting piece about bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought a few basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I discovered some other incredible details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
