I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in WINNEMUCCA NV where I ate at Flyin Pig Bar-B-Q and I came across a really interesting piece about bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I should say I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I found out some more amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
