I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in WINDSOR CT where I ate at Asia 2000 Chinese Restaurant and I read an interesting cover story on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got some basic items of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a little more research I found some more interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
