I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in WILMINGTON DE where I ate at Melting Pot and I saw a new piece about bamboo. I did not know you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some more amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
