I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating by myself in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in WILLISTON VT where I ate at Residence Inn Burlington and I read a new cover story to do with bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got a few pieces of clothing.

I must admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a little more research I discovered some interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
