I move around a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating by myself in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in WILLIAMSPORT PA where I ate at Lobster Lounge and I read a new cover story on bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought some items of clothing.

I should tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
