I travel quite a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in WILKESBORO NC where I ate at Almalfi's Pizza and I came across a new cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a few pieces of clothing.

I must tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found out some more interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
