I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating alone in local restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in WILKES BARRE PA where I ate at Vinos Deli and I read an interesting piece to do with bamboo clothing. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought a couple items of clothing.

I must admit I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a bit more research I discovered some other interesting details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
