I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in WHITESTONE NY where I ate at Gigis Pizza and I read a new piece to do with bamboo. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a few items of clothing.
I have to admit I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I discovered some other amazing details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
