I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner alone in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in WEYMOUTH MA where I ate at J P Greer's Pub and I saw an interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought some basic items of clothing.
I should admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a little more research I found some more amazing pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
