I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating alone in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in WESTMINSTER MD where I ate at Roy Rogers Family Restaurants and I came across a new article about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased a few items of clothing.
I should say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I discovered some other amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
