I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner alone in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in WEST PALM BEACH FL where I ate at No Anchovies Neighborhood Pastaria and I saw an interesting cover story to do with bamboo. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good option for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found some other incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
