I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in WEST HOLLYWOOD CA where I ate at Joss and I came across a new article on bamboo. I did not know you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a few items of clothing.
I have to admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I found some more interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs very little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
