I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in WEST HARRISON NY where I ate at Michelangelo Restaurant and I read a new article to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some more amazing details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
