I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up eating all alone in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in WEST DOVER VT where I ate at Dot's of Dover and I read a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and purchased some basic items of clothing.
I must tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found some other interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
