I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in WENTZVILLE MO where I ate at Asian Garden and I came across an interesting piece about bamboo. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased a few items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found some other amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
