I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in WAVERLY IA where I ate at Other Place and I read an interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a few basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a bit more research I found some interesting details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
