I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in WATERBURY CT where I ate at Town Plot Super Market and I read a really interesting article on bamboo. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.

I must say I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I found out some incredible details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
