I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in WASHINGTON PA where I ate at Curinga's Inn and I saw an interesting piece about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.
I must tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I found some more amazing facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
