I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in WASHINGTON DC where I ate at Ben & Jerrys Icecream and I saw a really interesting piece on bamboo. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After some more research I discovered some other interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
