I travel quite a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in WASHINGTON DC where I ate at Box Lunch Specialists and I saw an interesting article on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought some basic items of clothing.

I must tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I found some other interesting facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
