I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up eating alone in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in WARRIOR AL where I ate at Burns Restaurant and I read an interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a few items of clothing.
I must say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I discovered some amazing details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
