I travel a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in WARRENTON NC where I ate at Sweet Serendipity On Main and I read an interesting article on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got some basic items of clothing.
I must tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found out some amazing details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
