I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in WARREN MI where I ate at Sarsing and I saw an interesting piece to do with bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased a couple items of clothing.
I should admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found some more incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
