I move around a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in VIRGINIA BEACH VA where I ate at Bamboo Hut Chinese Restaurant and I read a new cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought a few pieces of clothing.

I must admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After some more research I discovered some more incredible pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
