I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up eating all alone in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in VILONIA AR where I ate at Catfish Hook Restaurant and I saw an interesting cover story about bamboo. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased some pieces of clothing.

I have to tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After some more research I discovered some more incredible details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
