I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in VIENNA VA where I ate at Barbecue Country and I saw a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothing. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a few pieces of clothing.
I must tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I discovered some other amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
