I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in VERNAL UT where I ate at Lalas Fiesta and I saw an interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought some basic items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After some more research I found out some incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
