I move around a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in UTICA NY where I ate at Acropolis Greek Restaurant and I read a new article on bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a few items of clothing.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a bit more research I found some other incredible pieces of information on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
