I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in UNION CITY CA where I ate at Sweet Sensations Bake Shop & Fast Food and I saw a really interesting article to do with bamboo. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got some basic items of clothing.
I must say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a little more research I discovered some more interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
