I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating all alone in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in TULSA OK where I ate at Casa Laredo and I saw a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
