I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating alone in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in TUCSON AZ where I ate at Vivace Restaurant and I read an interesting article about bamboo. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got some basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I discovered some more amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
