I move around a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in TUCKAHOE NY where I ate at Roma Restaurant Inc and I read an interesting article on bamboo. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent option for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got some items of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some other amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
