I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in TROUTMAN NC where I ate at Red Light Cafe and I read a new piece about bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got some items of clothing.
I have to admit I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I found out some other amazing pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
