I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in TRENTON SC where I ate at Town N Country Deli & Restaurant Inc and I read a new cover story on bamboo clothes. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased some pieces of clothing.

I should admit I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found out some amazing facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
