I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in TRENTON NJ where I ate at Covellos Pizza & Italian Restaurant and I came across a new cover story on bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought some items of clothing.

I have to say I was pretty impressed. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After a bit more research I discovered some other interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
