I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating all alone in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in TOLEDO OH where I ate at Friendly Restaurants and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got a couple pieces of clothing.

I must admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I discovered some incredible pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
