I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in TIVERTON RI where I ate at Seabreeze and I saw a really interesting piece about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased some basic items of clothing.
I have to admit I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
