I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in THOUSAND OAKS CA where I ate at Baskin-Robbins 31 Ice Cream Stores - Agoura Hills and I came across an interesting piece about bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased some items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found some more interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
