I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in TAOS NM where I ate at Pilar Yacht Club Cafe and I saw a really interesting piece about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to admit I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found some amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
