I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in TANEYTOWN MD where I ate at Szechuan Inn Chinese Restaurant and I saw a really interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a couple items of clothing.
I should admit I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I found some incredible details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
