I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up eating alone in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in TAMPA FL where I ate at Hoppers Grille & Brewery and I saw an interesting cover story about bamboo. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got a couple items of clothing.

I have to say I was pretty impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After some more research I discovered some other amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
