I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in TAMPA FL where I ate at Lin Garden Chinese Restaurant and I read an interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.
I have to admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found some more interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
