I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in TACOMA WA where I ate at LA Quinta - Ports of Call Restaurant & Lounge and I came across a new article on bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought some basic items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After a bit more research I discovered some amazing details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
