I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in SUNBURY OH where I ate at Fracassos Village Pizza and I saw an interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought some basic items of clothing.

I must say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a little more research I found out some other interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
