I move around a lot for my job and so often end up eating all alone in restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in SUN PRAIRIE WI where I ate at Herreman's and I came across a really interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got a couple basic items of clothing.

I must say I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After some more research I discovered some more amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
