I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in SUGAR LAND TX where I ate at Pepperoni's - New York Style Pizza - Great Wood and I read an interesting piece about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got some items of clothing.
I must tell you I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
After a little more research I found some incredible details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
