I move around a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in STURGEON BAY WI where I ate at Java On Jefferson and I saw a new article on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I must say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I found out some other incredible details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
